Its been a while

The wild summer of money making and fun having has arrived...and its off to a slow start.

I only have a job at one place, which is really two jobs I guess, I host and bartend.

Its good money...but dang is it TIRING

Not many people are home yet, and I work 5-6 nights a week so I don't get to see those who are.

I have gotten to spend some good time with the fam, Russell and I have played baseball approximately 457 times already.

My mom, and most of the YMCA staff, are trying to talk me into being the sports and games director for their summer camp. Also good money, but it goes from 7:30 AM to 3:30PM then I would go straight to my other job until 9:30. So that may get tiring.

I think I will only have to double up like that two days a week though, so its not too bad.

My dad is also trying to get me to work for him at his facility since one of his guys is bailing out.

It is also good money, and only 20 hours a week, so I might just do two 10 hour days on the weekend because I can do the hours whenever I want.

Unfortunately that is a really physical job, and I haven't started PT yet or even been seen by a doctor since I left OK. Not good.

In the end I'm not sure what will actually happen, I am aiming for working around 70-80 hours a week solid until I head back to school, I haven't had a job I get paid for since I graduated, so I figure its time to make up for it.

Oh yeah, so far I can make any kind of Daiquiri, Martinis, Old Fashioned, and all our specialty drinks.

I pull a beer from the tap for the first time ever last night, its not like it loos on the movies.

I also made a cappuccino from an industrial machine, not as easy as one would think, getting the milk to froth sucks.

On the spiritual side of things it has been a little tough. It seems that during the week I need to sleep to catch up from work, then I eat and get ready and do whatever I need to do for the day and it is work time. I am doing better then I was a few days ago though. It will be interesting to see what happens once the other     job(s) kick in.

Anywho...summer on an island in Maine....I know you're jealous.

She said it well, life is indeed differet

Very good, but different.

I'm about to be done with my freshman year...which should be my junior year

Thats frustrating sometimes...but I'm thankful I didn't go straight to college.

I'm single. I was a HUGE baby about it at first, and really selfish.

Praise the Lord it happened though. Hannah is growing so much, it makes me proud.

I am learning what surrender and trusting the Lord really means.

We are still really good friends, which rocks, it is hard at times though.

I'm making some really good friends here, of course now I get to leave them all for 4 months.

Hopefully some of them will be coming up for the summer to see the island and what not.

Speaking of which.

I am about to go into a summer of serious money making.

I already have three jobs lined up, landscaping in the morning, hosting at Poor Boy's in the evening, and last but certainly not least...bartending...thats right folks, bartending.

I'm going to train for the first month, then they will let me loose, its going to be a lot of fun.

I'm having surgery next week, nothing to serious, but it will make readying myself for finals, packing up, and the drive home very interesting.

Thats a lot of huge life experiences all wrapped into a few sentences...I have a doctors appointment in the morning though, so thats it.

Life is funny.

I think I finally understand what that means.

I am learning good things from the Lord right now, and enjoying it, even though it is happening through painful stuff. He is such a good Dad, he moves things around in our lives when we wont do it ourselves, but if you just trust Him it always works out. Its so easy to say that, but often so hard to do. I have felt like I was losing my mind a few times recently, then I finally started trusting Him with my WHOLE life and not just parts and it works so much better. I think we often are mistaken in seeing ourselves as completely surrendered, then we realize there is more in us we never knew we hadn't surrendered. (If that has ever happened to you it will make sense, if not I will sound crazy). I like complete surrender, it feels good, peaceful really.

In the end we just need to trust the Lord. I mean really trust Him, not just say we do, or act like we do. We shouldn't worry about things because he is a good father and will make things happen that need to happen, we just have to listen and follow.

I like learning new things about Him. It makes me feel like I am a little kid.

HI Friends,

I'm going to be stuck in Tulsa next week for all of spring break, so if anyone knows of anything cool to do around here, is coming this way, or wants to buy me a plane ticket to somewhere that would be great.
